16U Red at 16U Provincials

This past weekend the 16U Girls Red team played in the 16U Provincials.  Not knowing what to expect, as we all know, anything can happen, and that it did!!

Day 1 saw our girls finish first in their Pool, moving them into Tier 1, yes, we said Tier 1!  The whole team was so excited and pleased to have ended their day with a great result.  Due to their drive and determination and love for the Sport, they managed to shine.

Day 2 the girls finished 3rd in their pool, keeping them in Tier 1 for the crossover against the Scarborough Titans the next morning.  Although they lost in the crossover, the opportunity to play, once again, against teams, most of them have played against in past years, brought back that belief that when your heart and mind are in the right place, you can find the determination to be the best you can be!

We are so proud of the accomplishments of our daughters this past weekend and looking forward to Nationals in Quebec in a couple of weeks!!!  You Rocked it ladies!!

Happy Holidays for 16u Red

The Durham Attack 16u Red team has completed two tournaments in the 2009 season.   It has been a learning experience for everyone on the team.  Flashes of brilliance and times of frustration have been the results so far this season.   The one thing that remains is that this is a group of great volleyball players.  The new year will begin with the girls focusing on coming together as a team to put together a great run in 2010.  The coaches look forward to giving everything they have in the new year to ensure all our girls get the most out of the season.

Durham Attack 16U Red Season Begins

The 2009 version of the Durham Attack 16u RED Team began their season on Saturday November 14, 2009 in a friendly tournament against fellow DA teams.

The team was joined by 17u Black, 16u Black, and 15u Black.  It was a great learning experience for the girls who have many new teammates to get to know, and to develop team chemistry.  Although the result of the competitive version of the day was disappointing, the girls learned that we have to work hard every time on the floor if they expect success during the season.

A very special thank you to all the parents and players who were very generous in donating food to Pereyma’s food drive.  Our school and community really appreciate it.

As for the 16U RED team, we will begin practice this week with a fresh new attitude and ready to work hard to prepare for the 2009 – 2010 season.
